“Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
- Margaret Mead
Jody has been sensitive to stigmatization and separation in our world since she was a young child. She believes in the purpose of all people and living creatures. Her personal strengths include her love of the land and the belief in the basic rights of all living be-ings. She is dedicated to empowering and assisting individuals, children and families from all walks of life to lead a meaningful life.
Professionally she has worked in the human services field for 20 years. She currently resides in southern California.
Her belief is that there is and never was a “box” and thus there is no reason for us to “think outside the box.” Instead we need to challenge ourselves and each other to acknowledge that anything is possible with support, training, education and skills building that focus on our unique strengths than spending time looking at our “weaknesses and dysfunctions.”
She credits her personal life experiences, her three adult sons, grandson Dwight and all the individuals and families she has been honored to work with for assisting her to grow beyond stigma, fear and inaction and continue to work diligently to remain committed to the values of love, family and honor for all living be-ings.
She has participated in many service commitments throughout the last 24 years and is honored to be a board member of Zootopia.
“Years ago I recognized my kinship with all living things, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on the earth. I said then and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it; while there is a criminal element, I am of it; while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.”
- Eugene V. Debs
